If you're looking for a great "multipurpose" WiFi camera this is it. We looked at various "Baby Monitor" cameras and came up empty with high price tags and nobody too thrilled about it. To see that this one had a built-in functionality that combines with an app for existing smart phones intrigued us. It's now our primary baby cam and has some great notifications if the baby starts to stir. Night vision and picture is much better than any of the Baby Monitors we checked out on and tbh you can't beat the price. In a few years planning on repurposing this as a monitor camera for our front porch area (indoor), this is actually where I tested it initially. It worked quite well. Easy to setup, app works good, it has some concern/options for your privacy, so that made me feel better.Pro-Tip: If you get the EERO you can setup your IOT to a restricted network to where it's not able to mess with your other equipment such as a private laptop. If you don't have EERO you should look into having a separate router handle your IOT stuff, to insure privacy across the board.

Personal Experience:The main living area of my house is hard to watch all the time with my 3 kids and if you are a parent you know that sometimes your kids will be crying and start playing the blame game. This camera helps me keep tabs on the kids while I was in other rooms, folding laundry, doing dishes, etc. but really helps the 1-2% of the time when the kids do something that caused one of them to cry. I use the footage as a teaching moment to show what they did and how they could have handled the situation differently. I've tried quite a few security cameras, but this one seems to be one of the best in features for this price range. I liked the way it notifies of any motion detection plus it had capability of detecting a human movement also. The night vision is superb. I tried night vision during zero light and it took great pictures. The only thing I think can be improved is number of notifications, i.e. if it can either detect the person and not send notification for the known ones or if there is an option to limit the notifications for a certain amount of time, then it would be great.

I was skeptical but this camera proved to be best I've used in this price range. The camera feels light and plasticky but don't let that deter you. The fit and finish is much better than other cameras I've used in this price range and it offers more features too.Setup is easy and they've baked in just about every option one could ask for in an indoor camera. Not only does this camera have an indicator to let you know when its recording, but when you place it in privacy mode the camera actually tilts itself down to aim the camera into its base, offering visible reassurance that it is not recording you. Other unique features include motion detection with follow mode that keeps the camera trained on any movement it detects. Movement can be set to general or human. The camera also include a baby monitor mode with time based monitoring that can be restricted to only record between certain hours.Overall this is a fine camera for any use from a baby monitor to garage security.

The video camera works very well! I tested in both SD and HD, and the quality is noticeable. For ease, I have broken down the review into pros and cons:Pros:Easy to install.App works flawlessly, and easy to maneuver.Video quality in both SD and HD look very good.Camera mechanics and quality feel great, and very sturdy, and well-built.Connects to live mode fairly quick, and delay is only about 2 seconds. I absolutely love the motion alerts, as they are almost instant, and THOSE have no delay. Baby monitor mode works very well, and it is a excellent feature to have!Speaker works Ok, could be a tiny bit louder, but still good for the most part. Cons:Microphone pickup is not the greatest. Need to be loud, or close to the device in order to pick up any clarity, or faint sounds.There is a large delay in the PTZ function of the camera. You click and wait for the signal to process, and that is about 3-4 seconds before each movement. Also, the movements have to be clicked on one-by-one. You can't hold down the button and make it move that way. Night vision is OK, light colors are easy to identify, but darker colors often disappear, or blend too much into the image.Color match of the video quality to actual is not too accurate. Video quality is excellent, but the color palette is off most of the time. This next one is a big one for me! There is no app available for tablets! My parents have an iPad that they would have loved to use this device with to keep open, and keep an eye on their granddaughter. But the Amcrest Smart Home app is only available for phones, and that was kind of a let down. If you could develop the app for tablet use, it would be fantastic, since these cameras are mainly used indoors, and connected to wifi, as most tablets are. That we, we aren't having to use our phones, and then get interrupted when a phone call comes in, and we can have the option to use a tablet as a dedicated device for these cameras. Overall, this is a great device to own, and I love the fact that it has live view, and "always on" option for baby monitor use. That was the primary use for this device, and overall, it is reliable, stable, and works very well! Plus, it gives such a long range of coverage, anywhere my wifi covers, which is excellent!
